Gods & Goddesses of Mithica

Major Deities

Bazrâ
The lord of corruption, Bazrâ seeks to bend and corrode all living and dead things to his will. He is champion of the undead, the aberration, and all things twisted.

His followers are generally thieves, bards, necromancers, arcane spellcasters, and the occasional politician.

Bazra is also known as The Corrupter, Rotting God, and Arkashtah.

His domains are Death, Evil and Trickery.

Codrim
God of magic, Codrim furthers both the divine and the arcane study of his following. Those who follow him are often multiclass wizard-clerics, although the odd sorceror-cleric, pure caster, or even bard occasionally finds their way to him.

He is also known as Bookworn and Knowing-one

His domains include Magic and Knowledge.

Firin
God of thievery and scoundrels, Firin has few friends. He prefers solitude or measured contact with lesser powers, rather than outright companionship with his peers. This, in fact, can be said of many of his followers as well.

He is also known as the Trickster, Dealtwice and The first true rogue.

His domains include Trickery, Evil and Chaos.

Irnskar & Steirir
Twin gods of the Hunt, Irnskar and Steirir are true neutral. Rangers, Druids, Barbarians and some Fighters follow the brothers' trail.

Irnskar lies in wait for his quarry and traps it, while Steirir hunts it through the wilderness to the last. Bearing this in mind, a temple
that worships the Brothers may focus especially on one brother or the other, based on the local culture's preference of trapping or
hunting.

They appear as two great, astral wolves - One pure white, and the other a mix of white and charcoal, both with brilliantly blue eyes.

Collectively, they are often refered to as The Brothers.

The domains they are associated with are Animal, Travel, and Sun domains.

Nílu
The Lord of Death, Nílu is rumored to appear as a great, shadowy black figure carrying a tremendous coil of rusted chains.
None follow Nílu, for his is the power to take life - Nothing more or less. None could become a cleric of Nílu, for he would suffer no life - Even among those who would follow him.

His archenemies are Bazrâ, God of Corruption, who works to undo and pervert his work, and Nirya, Goddess of Life.

Nílu is associated with True Death.

Nírya
Goddess of Life and bride of Ciarn, Nirya is the patron of life and fertility everywhere, in every form. She does all in her power to aid living creatures, and obliterate the abomination of the walking dead.

She is also known as the Great Mother, Summersbride, and Neiahwan.

Her domains are Good, Healing, and Protection.

Oratheon
God of art, music, and expression, Oratheon is patron to all who would create. Many praise him, yet few dedicate themselves to him. Oratheon does not provide spells or power to followers; Instead, he gently guides and nurtures any who catch his eye. As such, there are no clerics of Oratheon.

He is also known as the Bard, Songwriter, and Prince of the Hearth.

Pern
God of justice and just revenge, Pern is the patron of judges, juries, and (to their chagrin) vigilantes. His most well-known followers are the Luminaire of Terane, although his clerics and followers can be found around the world. His followers are all lawful, and no other restrictions apply.

He is also known as Luminar, The Swordsman, The Great Knight, and Bastion.

His domains are Law, Protection, and Strength.

Sjord
God of might, Sjord appears as a hulking, tremendous hill giant with blond hair, clad in red furs. He holds no favour for either good or evil, although his predilection toward honourable combat results in a slight prejudice toward non-chaotic followers.

He is also known as Fury, Beast and Strongest.

His domains include Strength, Protection, and War.

Minor Deities & Demigods

Axotl
Mighty lord of the winter snow, Axotl is a fierce warrior and survivor. Not strong enough to match Pern or Sjord in prowess, but capable-enough a master of combat. His unfortunate fault is a quick temper and unpleasant demeanor which have earned him no friends, and few allies. Patron of all who inhabit the Emynryl mountains, humanoid or not. It is through fealty to Axotl that the many races and species in the frozen north coexist - the lord of winter suffers no bloodshed between his faithful.

He is also known as the Bloodthirsty Lord.

His domains are War, Animals and Travel.

Iiyanara
Goddess of the moon, the tides, and stray dogs; mother to the Zaali? and patron to the Tarashni. She watches silently over the night, offering her protection to those who walk alone beneath her silver light. Never one to pick sides, Iiyanara allies herself with no god or pantheon - although she once carried love for Ciarn the Lifeshepherd before he wedded Nirya of the Light. Iiyanara seldom walks the earth in mortal form; when she does, it is inevitably at night. She appears as a tall, willowy elf with long, silver hair that nearly reaches the ground.

She is also known as Moon, Silver-mother, Fairest Watcher, and Lady Fair.

Her domains are Travel, Animals and Moon.

Jenaso
Goddess of commerce, trades, and salesmen, Jenaso emphasizes fairness and honesty at all times. Friend of Torgan, but often at odds with Firin as a result of his larcenous ways.

Also known as the Trader, Merchant's Queen, and Oathkeeper.

Her domain is Law.

Mayah
Goddess of the stars, the unseen, and navigation. Older sister to Iiyanara, Mayah is usually content to observe - only intervening when truly interested. Her followers include sailors, sages, and travelers of any kind.

Her domains are Knowledge and Travel.

Torgan
God of masonry and craftsmen, Torgan is friend to all who cut and lay stone. He values worksmanship in all things, and more often than not his guidance will be sought before any sort of construction.

He is also known as Stonecutter.

His domain is Protection.

Dead Gods

Ciarn
Ciarn was the God of nature, leading and guiding all natural life on its path. He widowed Nirya when killed by Tanos, God of Man. In life, he served as shepherd to the wilds. His followers were nearly exclusively druids (inasfar as druids tend to follow gods) and rangers, although some barbarians and the occasional sorceror have been found among his following.

Ciarn was at odds with Codrim by virtue of his meddling with the forces of nature, although they were by no means enemies. Ciarn was, however, a sworn opponent of Bazrâ.

He is also known as Lifeshepherd, Bringer of Flocks, and the Evenhand.

His domains included Plant, Water, Animal, and Earth.

Skalla
God (or goddess) of vanity, Skalla appeared completely differently each time (s)he appeared, although each time gloriously attired, cleverly accessorized, and flawlessly made-up - Regardless of the gender, which changed every time (s)he appeared.

(S)he was also known as Ruby's kiss, the Many-Faced?, and the Vain.

Her domain was Trickery.

Tanos
God of Man, Tanos was brought into being in a centuries-long rite of blood, sky and sea. Taking the shape of a great, well-muscled man with the head of an ox, his first act was to kill and consume the god Ciarn, thus taking his place among the greater Gods. He was destroyed by the timely intervention of two women, knights in the service of Pern.

His domains included Strength, Plant, Water, Animal, and Earth.
